Topıcs and Informatıon Resources Researched for Pregnancy of Pregnant Women; A Qualıtatıve Study

Abstract

Objective: This study was conducted in order to determine the topics that women are investigating during their pregnancies and the resources they refer to. Methods: It is interview technique and case study from qualitative research techniques. Sampling; 10 women who gave birth in a hospital in Aydın were determined by maximum diversity sampling technique. The data were collected by semi-structured form with individual interview and voice recording, and analyzed by content analysis. Results: It is important to note that women are more likely to experience physical anxiety and fear of childbirth, often seeking nutrition, fear of childbirth and labor, exercising, doing internships to watch birth videos, familiar-relatives to talk about birth fear, healthcare personnel for physical complaints, It has been reported to be useful to have a contradiction between the information received from the internet and the information received from the health personnel, to watch the birth videos on the internet, to get advice about the physical complaints from the health personnel and to talk about the fears with relatives. Participants have come to the conclusion that they are safe when they are informed by the health workers and if the information fields on the internet are the same as the information from the health personnel. Conclusion: It has been determined that women benefit from multiple sources for different problems during pregnancy. It may be advisable for health professionals to consider the information needs of geologists in the planning and presentation of antenatal care services and to provide accurate sources of information.
