Towards Adaptive user Interfaces for Mobile-Phone in Smart World
Journal Title: International Journal of Advanced Computer Science & Applications - Year 2018, Vol 9, Issue 11
Abstract
All applications are developed for context adaptation and provide communication with users through their interfaces. These applications offer new opportunities for developers as well as users by collecting context data and adapting systems behavior accordingly. Particularly, in mobile devices, these mechanisms provide usability increment tremendously. Rigid and non-adaptive interface blocks the features of context awareness. In this paper, we study methods, technologies and criteria which have been proposed specifically for adaptive interfaces. Based on these guidelines, we elaborate the intelligence of adaptivity and usage of context according to user mental model. Further, we have proposed a model to develop user context ontology (UCO) and adaptive interface ontology (AIO) to optimize the use of adaptive mobile interfaces in the context of user preferences. These ontologies organize the perceptions and thoughts of user. The philosophy of User Centered Design (UCD) is proposed to analyze the usability and validity of mobile device interfaces according to user contexts.

Efficient Model for Distributed Computing based on Smart Embedded Agent
Technological advances of embedded computing exposed humans to an increasing intrusion of computing in their day-to-day life (e.g. smart devices). Cooperation, autonomy, and mobility made the agent a promising mechanism...
Improving and Extending Indoor Connectivity Using Relay Nodes for 60 GHz Applications
A 60 GHz wireless system can provide very high data rates. However, it has a tremendous amount of both Free Space Path Loss (FSPL) and penetration loss. To mitigate these losses and extend the system range; we propose te...
ETEEM- Extended Traffic Aware Energy Efficient MAC Scheme for WSNs
Idle listening issue arises when a sensor node listens to medium despite the absence of data which results in consumption of energy. ETEEM is a variant of Traffic Aware Energy Efficient MAC protocol (TEEM) which focuses...
Improving Vertical Handoffs Using Mobility Prediction
The recent advances in wireless communications require integration of multiple network technologies in order to satisfy the increasing demand of mobile users. Mobility in such a heterogeneous environment entails that use...
Exploiting SCADA vulnerabilities using a Human Interface Device
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems are used to control and monitor critical national infras-tructure functions like electricity, gas, water and railways. Field devices such as PLC’s (Programmable Lo...
