Tożsamość Europy w nauczaniu Jana Pawła II

Abstract
Tożsamość Europy stanowi istotny przedmiot nauczania św. Jana Pawła II. Biskup Rzymu, zarówno w nauczaniu oficjalnym, jak i zwyczajnym, wyrażał troskę nie tylko o instytucjonalny i polityczny, ale także o duchowy i moralny wymiar Europy. Autor w artykule odpowiada na następujące pytania: jak św. Jan Paweł II rozumiał pojęcia „tożsamość” i „tożsamość Europy”? Gdzie upatrywał źródeł tej tożsamości? Na jakie fundamenty kultury europejskiej wskazywał? Czy Europa może utracić swoją tożsamość? Jaką wizję zjednoczonej Europy przedstawiał Papież w kontekście konieczności zachowania swojej tożsamości?
