TRANSIENT THERMALAND STRUCTURALANALYSIS OF ROTOR DISC OF DISK BRAKE
Journal Title: Indian Journal of Scientific Research - Year 2015, Vol 5, Issue 2
Abstract
Transient Thermal and Structural Analysis of the Rotor Disc of Disk Brake is aimed at evaluating the performance of disc brake rotor of a car under severe braking conditions and there by assist in disc rotor design and analysis. In the present work, an attempt has been made to investigate the suitable hybrid composite material which is lighter than cast iron and has good Young’s modulus, Yield strength and density properties. Aluminum base metal matrix composite and High Strength Glass Fiber composites have a promising friction and wear behavior as a Disk brake rotor. The transient thermo elastic analysis of Disc brakes in repeated brake applications has been performed and the results were compared. The suitable material for the braking operation is S2 glass fiber and all the values obtained from the analysis are less than their allowable values. Hence the brake Disc design is safe based on the strength and rigidity criteria. By identifying the true design features, the extended service life and long term stability is assured.

EFFECT OF MAGNETIC CLOUD ON COSMIC RAY INTENSITY AND GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IN ASSOCIATION WITH CORONAL MASS EJECTION AND INTERPLANETARY SHOCKS
The relationship between magnetic cloud and Coronal Mass Ejection is a part of research in this field. The view that all ICMEs would originate as flux ropes while only one-third of CMEs show clear magnetic cloud signatur...
RISK STRATIFICATION IN HEAD AND NECK CARCINOMAS : A DYNAMIC SCORING SCHEME TO PREDICT PROGNOSIS
Risk adapted treatment is a well proven strategy in several cancers .However such a strategy requires identification of proven prognostic variables as an initial requisite . In this study we sought to identify such prog...
HIGHER-ORDER SUB-POISSONIAN STATISTICS IN INTERACTION OF TWO TWO-LEVEL ATOMS WITH A SINGLE MODE COHERENT RADIATION
In the present paper we study higher-order sub-Poissonian photon statistics in interaction of a single mode radiation initially in the coherent state with an assembly of two excited two-level atoms using the Hamiltonia...
STUDY OF EFFICACYAND SAFETY OF TOPICAL CYCLOSPORINE IN VERNAL KERATOCONJUNCTIVITIS
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and adverse effects of topical cyclosporine 0.05% in patients suffering from vernal keratoconjunctivitis(VKC). A total of 100 patients of VKC were treated with topic...
