Treatment of Chronic Pharyngitis in Acute Period: Clinical-Immunologic and Microbiologic Aspects

Abstract
The paper deals with data of a study of complex clinical-immunologic and microbiologic efficacy of Septolete Plus for the treatment of chronic pharyngitis in acute period. The study involved 100 patients treated with Septolete Plus lozenges as well (at the most 6 lozenges per day as a monotherapy during 5 days). The obtained data confirm positive dynamic of clinical course of disease and state of immune mechanisms under the treatment with Septolete Plus. The medication demonstrated a high bactericidal and fungicidal activity and did not have a toxic effect on the cells in oropharyngeal secretion and mucosal ones. It also demonstrated to have moderate immunomodulating activity.
