Treatment of cosmetic wastewater using physicochemical and chemical methods

Journal Title: CHEMIK nauka-technika-rynek - Year 2011, Vol 65, Issue 2

Abstract

The paper is a review of literature on the effectiveness of physicochemical and chemical methods of cosmetic wastewater treatment. These methods may be the principle level of treatment, or be a stage prior to biological treatment. The result obtained by different authors is difficult to compare because of the very high variability of the composition and concentrations of pollutants in wastewater. The selection of treatment methods should be decided by the composition of wastewater and legal requirements that must be met before discharge of wastewater into the receiver.
