Trust as Fundamental Value of Public Space at the Local Dimension

Abstract

The article pertains to trust in social life. The author refers to works of Russell Hardin, Eric M. Ulsner and Piotr Sztompka. She considers the problem of trust in the context of interests and profits as well as risks. Two kinds of trust have been analyzed, namely strategic and normative trust. In the author’s opinion moral aspect of trust binds us to the community and allows to solve problems related to undertaking collective actions.
