Tuning of Photonic Band Gap by Electric Field in a Nonlinear Composite Material
Journal Title: GRD Journal for Engineering - Year 2016, Vol 1, Issue 0
Abstract
We theoretically investigate the tuning of Photonic band gaps in one dimensional photonic crystals based on Nano composite of silver nanoparticle embedded in SiO2 by applying electric field. In addition, the tuning can be done by considering the filling fraction and the radius of the nanoparticle. The evolution of these results to provide new possibilities of designing the desired photonic crystals.

An Intelligent Helmet for Miners with Air Quality and Destructive Event Detection using Zigbee
An intelligent helmet has been developed to assist the miners working in the mining industry. Harmful events tend to occur in the mining industry that can lead to severe injury or be fatal. LED miner’s helmet is the most...
Secured Picode: Using Visual Cryptography
In this paper, we propose a new technology which combines the visual cryptography with a picture embedding pictode for the security of information. Hence the paper combines both the advantages of the modified visual cryp...
Positioning of Conveyor Belt and Loadcell Measurement
Most of the conveyor applications are run at constant speed or at variable speed. It can be achieved by three various methods. They are pulse control, velocity control and network control. The position of a belt will be...
An Experimental Study on Partial Replacement of Fine Aggregate using Steel Slag
Modification of concrete properties by the addition of appropriate materials is a popular field of concrete research. In this study we are focusing on the use of selected waste of steel industry (steel slag) as a partial...
Nanotech Made It Easy
One of the major issues to be addressed when coming to construction is the choice of the appropriate material. An already, classical implementation of the field techniques, widely used for construction is Cement, Steel,...
