Abstract
The Netherlands is not one of the typical seaside tourist destinations, also known as “SSS” destinations (Sand, Sun and Sea), however, tourism is an important part of the economy, contributing to GdP with around 2,9% (in 2008) (oECd 2010). this study ana - lyzes essential characteristics of inbound, outbound and domestic tourism of the Nether - lands, in order to produce same statistical information database for possible comparison in relation to another tourist destinations.
