TURKIC FACTOR IN SHAPING THE RANGE OF TITLES FOOD, DISHES AND UTENSILS OF UKRAINIANS IN MOLDOVA

Abstract

On the basis of analysis of scientific sources and field data collected by the author, was researched the influence of the Turkic borrowings on the formation of the nomenclature of the names of food, dishes and utensils of Ukrainians in Moldova. It was found that many of the titles recorded Turkisms are known by Ukrainian literary language (кабáн, кавýн, із’ỷм, лóкшина, чáрка) and its dialects (тавá, кабáк) and by Romanian language and its dialects (bostаn, jambon, zarzăr / zarzar / zarzîr; pǎtlǎgea / pătlăjan), which indicates a strong cross-language and cross-cultural contacts Slavic, and Turkic and east-roman population since ancient times. Some names (жанбóн, зарзáрики) are locally or regionally limited. The presence of more than 30 names of Turkic origin gives us reason to believe that the role of the Turkic factor in the formation of Ukrainian dialect system of food names, food, dishes and utensils in the cir cumscribed area is quite weighty.
