Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2008, Vol 1, Issue 2

Abstract

A dynamic about establishment of their own companies developed in 1990´s among the Turks living in Germany. Working for their own companies is not an alternative to working in a fixed-salary-job in this mentality which is formed because of the more importance that is given to independent working and different working and life styles. In this sense, this mentality, which is grown in Germany and about Turkish entrepreneurship, is a protean aspect of Turkish-German socialization process. Besides their bravery, flexibility, and communication skills which are special to Mediterranean people and service sensibility, Turkish entrepreneurs have the expertness knowledge of German school and work lives thanks to this protean socialization process. In this aspect, it is impossible to explain the tendency of this people to entrepreneurship in one-dimensional approach. Bourgeois-Turkish-middle class, which has important potential for companies that are established and developed in Germany, is emanating. In this article, which is a detailed summary of comprehensive search that was made by Centre for Studies on Turkey which has been working about Turkish Entrepreneurship for many years, the empiric dates about the power of Turkish entrepreneurs in Germany and Europe are presented.
