Journal Title: The Journal of International Social Research - Year 2013, Vol 6, Issue 25
Abstract
The glass, which is accepted to have gotten on the stage of history towards the end of the 3rd millennium BC, has had a unique production technique in each period. The amphoriskoi discussed in this study were manufactured by core-forming -a production technique adopted as of the mid-2nd millennium BC. After the 6th century BC, core-forming technique of the eastern Mediterranean passed to Greek Art, and made a progress traceable until the Roman Period. In this study, an attempt is made to determine whether the abovementioned amphoriskoi are fake or genuine through comparison with samples from the period in terms of form and decoration.
