Two procedures for robust monitoring of probability distributions of economic data stream induced by depth functions
Journal Title: Operations Research and Decisions - Year 2015, Vol 25, Issue 1
Abstract
Data streams (streaming data) consist of transiently observed, evolving in time, multidimensional data sequences that challenge our computational and/or inferential capabilities. We propose user friendly approaches for robust monitoring of selected properties of unconditional and conditional distributions of the stream based on depth functions. Our proposals are robust to a small fraction of and/or inliers, but at the same time are sensitive to a regime change in the stream. Their implementations are available in our free R package DepthProc.

An EWMA control chart for the exponential distribution using repetitive sampling plan
A new EWMA control chart has been proposed under repetitive sampling when a quantitative characteristic follows the exponential distribution. The properties of the proposed chart, including the average run lengths has be...
On the one-shot two-person zero-sum game in football from a penalty kicker’s perspective
A penalty kicker’s problem in football has been modelled. The study took into consideration different directions in which the ball can be struck and goalkeepers’ success at defending shots. The strategic form of the game...
Innovation management in Polish enterprises

Particulate matter air pollution in an urban area. A case study
Many European agglomerations suffer from high concentrations of particulate matter (PM), which is now one of the most detrimental pollutants characterizing the urban atmospheric environment. This paper addresses the prob...
Influence of intra-organizational trust on organizational outcomes
Nowadays, trust is perceived as one of the key factors that can build an organization’s competitive advantage, increase the efficiency of its functioning and ability to develop. It can be expected that shaping trust in a...
