Ukrainian Writers’ Colonies: Subculture of Ukrainian Soviet Writers

Abstract

The research discusses an episode of the everyday life of Ukrainian Soviet writers – their stay at writers’ colonies, called “Budynky tvorchosti pysmennykiv”. Written mainly on the basis of the author’s fieldwork (observation and interviewing), the article deals with the structure of the writers’ community and its main features.
