Abstract
Male proper names starting with the letter Х, as recorded in the lists of regiments in the Register of the Zaporozhzhya Army of 1649, have been examined lexicographically in the article. Their origin, phonetic and word formation changes have been considered, the number of bearers of each name in the Register has been specifi ed, and the use of names in other written memorials from olden times to our time has been recorded.<br/><br/>
