Ultrasonic Studies on Molecular Interaction of Mesitylene With Alkanols in Cyclohexane Solution at 303K
Journal Title: GJRA-Global Journal For Research Analysis - Year 2015, Vol 4, Issue 8
Abstract
Ultrasonic velocity(U), Density(ρ) and Viscosity (Ƞ) have been measured for mixtures of alkanols namely 1-Propanol, 2-Propanol, 1-Butanol and 1-Pentanol with Mesitylene in Cyclohexane at 303K. The experimental data was used to calculate various acoustical parameters like adiabatic compressibility( ), Free Length(Lf), Free Volume (Vf), Internal Pressure (πi), Acoustical Impedance (Z), Absorption Coefficient, Avilable Volume, Cohesive Energy, Lenard Jones potential, Free energy of Activation, Molecular interaction parameter and Formation Constant. These parameters are used to discuss the Molecular interactions in the Mixtures.
