Abstract

ULUM is an new academic refereed journal dedicated to publishing articles, essays, translations, symposium reviews, and book reviews primarily within the fields of Religious and Islamic Studies including Arts and Humanities, Religion, Islamic Studies as well as Social and Behavioral Sciences, Theology and Ethics. The objective of the journal is to provide a forum for the scholars of Study of Religion(s) and Islamic Studies from Turkey and all over the world through which they can share and disseminate their research results and findings. This is especially important within the context of Turkish academy as the ULUM is the second in its kind publishing in English and thus providing a channel of communication with international audience for scholars who based in Turkey. ULUM aims to contribute to the scholarship by offering an effective venue for constructive critique and creative thinking in all aspects of Religious and Islamic Studies. ULUM is published twice a year in July and December and adopts double-blind peer-review process. There are at least two reviewers for the total number of articles in each issue. In addition, all articles are checked by means of a software program in order to confirm that they are unpublished and avoid plagiarism. ULUM accepts paper submission from researchers with only doctoral degrees in research articles and book review. ULUM requires writers to use the Isnad Citation Style: www.isnadsistemi.org We are delighted to offer you high-quality original reasearch papers in various themes and topics with the current issue. As the editor of ULUM, I am thankful to all those scholars and the members of the editorial board for their dedication, cooperation, and assistance.
