Undergraduate adult learners: a challenge for higher education institutions

Abstract
This paper focuses on the enrollment of middle-aged and late adults*** in undergraduate programs, particularly on the challenge educational institutions have of providing heterogeneous solutions tailored to the specific features of this emerging student population. First, the emergence of this population in college contexts is contextualized in order to question their actual inclusion in classrooms (beyond coverage). Finally, an analysis of educational institutions is presented in the spirit of authors such as Apple, Foucault, Rancière and Dejoures. The paper is the result of a literature review, which allowed more accurately define the object of study and determine its current state of affairs.
