Understanding the Connection between Vitamin D and Diabetes: A Narrative Review

Abstract
Diabetes is a persistent medical condition distinguished by elevated concentrations of glucose in the bloodstream. This condition has a global impact, impacting millions of individuals, and inadequate management can result in a range of complications. Despite the absence of a cure for diabetes, exercise and diet, among other lifestyle components, can significantly impact its management. Interest in the potential function of vitamin D in the prevention and management of diabetes has increased in recent years. This article aims to investigate the correlation between vitamin D and diabetes, elucidate the possible mechanisms underlying its impacts, and survey the existing scientific literature that substantiates its efficacy.
