Une Hémoglobinose SC Révélée Par Un Décollement De Rétine : A Propos D’un Cas. Haemoglobinosis SC Revealed By Retinal Detachment: About One Case.
Journal Title: IOSR Journal of Dental and Medical Sciences (IOSR-JDMS) - Year 2018, Vol 17, Issue 6
Abstract
Introduction: SC heterozygous is an autonomous entity, very different from homozygous sickle cell disease. It accounts for 20% to 30% of major sickle cell syndromes. Materials and results: The aim of the work was to report the case of a fortuitous discovery of SC composite heterozygous sickle cell disease in the context of total retinal detachment of the right eye and PVR stage C2, with the presence of peripheral occlusive vasculitis at the left eye. The diagnosis was retained on a bundle of clinical, biological and angiographic arguments. Conclusion: It is important to know how to make early detection of patients at risk with appropriate clinical surveillance in order to avoid progression to irreversible organic sequelae.
