URANIUM AND RADIUM ISOTOPES OCCURRENCE IN CARPATHIANS CHLORIDE WATER (CARPATHIAN MTS., POLAND)

Journal Title: Biuletyn Państwowego Instytutu Geologicznego - Year 2013, Vol 456, Issue 456

Abstract

Chloride water of Polish Carpathians with total dissolved solids up to about 170 g/dm[sup]3[/sup] are occurred in local zones of water flow hindrance and was taken from the depths up to 1000 m. Radioactive isotopes research in the chloride water indicated the distinctly higher concentration of radium isotopes ([sup]226[/sup]Ra and [sup]228[/sup]Ra), range from a few to above 1000 mBq/dm[sup]3[/sup], in comparison to concentration of uranium isotopes ([sup]238[/sup]U and [sup]234[/sup]U) between a few to tens of mBq/dm[sup]3[/sup].
