Urban planning aspects of reconstruction of transport infrastructure and the creation of artificial territories

Abstract
This article discusses aspects of one of the main reasons that complicate urban development of the city of Odessa – particularly road transport network, which does not meet the needs of freight and passenger traffic of the seaside port city of Odessa, and reveals the basic directions in the field of reconstruction and renovation of the coastal areas to the device of artificial territories. The master plan provides the reorientation of Odessa Sea Commercial Port mainly to the container conversion of goods. These measures are provided within the calculation period of the master plan. Thus, in the near future on the territory of filtration fields the construction of the container terminal “Dry port” is supposed. Subsequently the transfer of the container port terminals to it’s north part is scheduled. The southern part of the port will be used for the development of passenger transport and the creation of tourist and recreational infrastructure of the city. This development will greatly increase the city's central area and improve the level of service of residents and visitors. It is also proposed to restore the network of recreational cruises of the small craft. Thus, Odessa sea passenger port will be able to expand its area and significantly develop its tourist infrastructure.
