Use of a hypothetically optimal non-recursive digital smoothing filter for comparative study of signal denoising methods in analytical chemistry
Journal Title: International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Computational and Applied Sciences - Year 2017, Vol 21, Issue 1
Abstract
We developed a hypothetically optimal non-recursive digital smoothing filter which minimises the sum of the squared norms of the residuals (between true and smoothed signals) and of the smoothed noise. It has been proven theoretically that the optimal smoothing filter of constant and linear signals is the moving average filter. It was found that Savitzky - Goley and Fourier filters have near-optimal smoothing properties for the white and pink noises.
Mathematical Methods for Separation of Overlapping Asymmetrical Peaks in Spectroscopy and Chromatography. Case study: One-Dimensional Signals
Mathematical methods for separation of overlapping asymmetrical peaks in spectroscopy and chromatography were reviewed. Evaluation of initial peak parameters and curve fitting algorithms has been discussed.
A systematic study on the genus Erodium in Kurdistan of Iraq
Sixty two specimens of Erodium were loaned by Howler Botanical Garden herbarium to RNG herbarium at the University of Reading, UK, beside quite many living taxon that naturally found in the fields of Kurdistan. Morpholog...
Prediction of Earthquake using F.E.M Techniques
This proposal deals with the use of Finite Element Method to model the EARTH as a WHOLE to predict Earthquakes on time- scale .Here the EARTH is considered as a whole and hence a change recorded at any place when applied...
APPLICATION OF TOPOGRAPHICAL SURVEY FOR ASSESSMENT OF ISUNJABA GULLY EROSION SITE IN ISU LOCAL GOVT. AREA OF IMO STATE
Topographical survey has been a useful tool to better understand the undulation of terrains (terrain relief), and in particular serve as a planning tool on how to remedy eroded terrains to avoid further degradation/defor...
Transient Convective Heat and Mass Transfer Flow in an Axially Varying Pipe with Traveling Thermal Wave
The effect of thermal radiation and thermo-diffusion on the unsteady combined heat and mass transfer of a viscous incompressible fluid in a corrugated pipe in the presence of a constant heat source. The unsteadiness is d...
