Use of a New Nanosized Photo Catalyst BaO3TiO.SrO3TiO-An Eco-friendly Process for Removal of Coloring Agents
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Chemistry and Environment (IJRCE) - Year 2013, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
Colouring agents are used widely and when not consumed are excreted in environment polluting it. Most common pollutants are dyes, synthetic or natural. These dyes were removed through photo catalytic degradation process using a new semiconductor BaO3TiO.SrO3TiO. The optimum conditions were extracted by varying pH, concentration of dye, amount of semiconductor, intensity of light etc. the process follows pseudo first order kinetics which was confirmed on kinetic parameters. Formation of nontoxic degraded products like NO2, CO2, H2O etc makes the process of immense importance. Participation of OH free radical was confirmed by use of scavenger.

Determination of Diphacinone in Grain Samples by Using Adsorptive Stripping Voltammetry
A sensitive method for the determination of the rodenticide diphacinone by differential adsorptive voltammetry (Dp-AdSV) on a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE) (pH 6.0) was described. The cyclic voltammograms demonst...
Photocatalytic Removal of organic pollutants in Silk Industrial Effluents by ZnO Deposited CASB Supported Composite
Photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants in the silk industrial effluent was investigated using ZnO deposited calcium alumino silicate ceramic beads (CASB). For the first time, preparation of ZnO deposited suppor...
