USE OF CONCEPT MAP IN ART PHILOSOPHY LESSON

Abstract
Art Philosophy, Faculty of Education, Painting-Work Education. Introduction to art history is directly related to the courses of Western Art History, Turkish Art History, Contemporary Art and Art Criticism. Because this derste art of art belongs to the period and the art of conception will understand the history of art and will also analyze the art. This course can be made more effective with active participation of students and alternative teaching techniques besides classical methods. For this purpose, concept maps applied to students especially in science and linguistics have been used as a different technique in teaching this course. For this purpose, study was carried out with the study group of 38 students from 2nd grade students who were educated in Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University. In the research, an action research model was used from qualitative research methods. The Art Philosophy course program is based on 10-week and 4-level concept maps. The main concepts of Philosophy, Art, Aesthetics and Art Theories are related to sub-concepts. The concepts that constitute the topics of the course are determined and applied by investigating the literature by the researcher. The research result is composed of student interview form. The interview form was developed and implemented by 2 field experts. Three of the last student concept maps were presented as examples. The research data consist of the concept map of the students and their opinions about the course being studied. These data were coded and interpreted by evaluating by content analysis. According to findings; Students' opinions consisting of 6 questions are grouped in 4 main themes. Opinions emerged in terms of technique, learning, emotion and creativity. The contributions from these themes in terms of learning for each question are more evident. From these findings, it is concluded that the relevant derste is an effective method of learning the applied concept maps.
