Use of soluble Methyl jasmonate on increase of lifetime after harvesting mushroom (Agaricusbisporus)
Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 6, Issue 4
Abstract
Dipping treatment of aqueous solutions of methyl jasmonate (MJ) at different levels (0, 0.5 and 1 mM) was investigated as a possible strategy for postharvest button mushroom(Agaricusbisporus) quality enhancement during storage. Changes in colour, total soluble protein contents, polyphenoloxidase (PPO, EC 1.10.3.1), peroxidase (POD, EC 1.11.1.7) and malondialdehyde (MDA) contents, and yeasts and molds were studied as quality markers. As compared to control, methyl jasmonate resulted in better colour maintenance during storage by decreasing the activities of PPO and POD and also reduced the accumulationof MDA. Our results suggest that exogenous application of methyl jasmonate at 0.5 mM concentration as dipping treatment can serve as promising tool for quality enhancement of button mushroom during storage.

Evaluation of AHP and Frequency Ratio Methods in Landslide Hazard Zoning (Case Study: Bojnord Urban Watershed, Iran)
Natural and anthropogenic factors increased the damages resulted from landslides in the last years. One of the main solutions for decreasing the landslide hazards is keeping distance from higher danger areas. For this pu...
Activity of peroxidase and cucurbitacin D in melon genotypes following challenge by the fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis race 1
Melon (Cucumis melo) production is significantly and economically affected by Fusarium wilt worldwide. Cucurbitacins are bitter tetracyclic triterpenoids that are toxic to most organisms and occur widely in wild and cult...

Proper Rainfall for Peak Flow Estimation by Integration of L-Moment Method and a hydrologic Model
Data generation in ungagged basins is one of the most important topics in hydrology. Rainfall records usually have a longer record period than river flood records. Thus it seems logically possible to derive flood pattern...
