Validation of the instrument to identify the quality of life in patients with chronic renal failure receiving hemodialysis

Abstract

Introduction:The psychological impact generated by a chronic disease in the life cycle of patients, and in a certain way, in the course of the disease, will be related to the type of coping strategies in the face of fears, worries, negative memories, thoughts and sensations before the treatment and in relation to the future. Objectives:validation of the quantitative instrument to determine the quality of life of the patient with chronic renal failure receiving hemodialysis. Materials and methods: The present investigation was carried out through the quantitative study modality, it is cross-sectional, descriptive. We worked with a pilot sample of 15 people, who attended hemodialysis treatment in the months of January to December 2021. Results:Cronbach's Alpha coefficient was applied, which allows identifying the reliability or validity of the instrument to be used, a result of 0.75 is obtained, that is, an acceptable or good reliability and can be applied. Conclusions:The established conclusions show that in the process of carrying this disease, patients are affected in many ways, not only physically, but also emotionally, therefore, the most frequent emotional states involved are anxiety, stress and depression also have to do with feelings, concerns, which negatively alter their psyche and emotions, negatively affecting their quality of life
