VERBAL REPRESENTATION OF IRONY IN THE WORLDVIEW OF DIETER NUHR

Abstract
The article is dedicated to the investigation of the concept of irony and its representation in the work of Dieter Nuhr «Gibt’s intelligentes Leben». The phenomenon of irony, despite its prevalence and long history, still remains poorly understood. This phenomenon appears even less explored in the work of the modern German writer Dieter Nuhr. The study of the functional capabilities of the verbal representation of irony in the work of D. Nuhr “Gibt’s intelligentes Leben” contributes to the identification of new mechanisms for the formation of ironic meaning in a literary text. The change of the scientific paradigm required more careful attention to the study of language in action, that is, the study of not only the structure of language units, but also the processes of their participation in real communication. In modern linguistics, there are several approaches to the study of the phenomenon of irony: irony as trope is a stylistic device that contradicts the literal and hidden meaning of the word and irony as a text-forming category related to the structure of the entire literary text and allowing the author to express his emotional and evaluative positions and convey your negative attitude to what is supposedly depicted in positive colors. This article shows the spectrum of devices which the author uses for achievement of comic effect. It is broad and multifaceted.
