VERBALIZAtION OF EMOTIONS IN THE PHRASEOLOGY OF GERMAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

This article gives a brief overview of the ways of emotions’ verbalization by means of the phraseology of German language. Our scientific research has proved that a reflection of certain emotional states finds its particular place in the semantic structure of phraseological units. A special aspect of the study of German phraseological units is to identify their capabilities in a metaphorical designation of emotions. The point we want to emphasize is that the emotivity as linguistic manifestation of emotions can be expressed by language tools on all language levels. The purpose of the paper is to determine and describe the types of the phraseological units denoting different emotions. In spite of the intensive research in the sphere of phraseology, some crucial theoretical tasks remain unsolved and open for discussion, such as the definition of the «phraseology of emotions» and «the emotive phraseology». The proposed scientific investigation is based on the study of common processes of phraseological derivation and linguistics of emotions (emotiology). The results of our research indicate the productivity of derivational processes on the material of emotive phraseology. The article also discusses German emotional enantiosemic phraseological units identified and considered as a special emotional evaluation of enantiosemy. We have come to the conclusion that phraseological enantiosemy is a complex emotional phenomenon.
