Very late development of coronary artery aneurysm with sirolimus eluting stent

Journal Title: Ege Tıp Dergisi - Year 2016, Vol 55, Issue 3

Abstract

Drug eluting stents (DES) are superior to bare metal stents except in patients scheduled surgery recently, high risk of bleeding and in patients cannot use long-term dual antiplatelet therapy. DESs are being used increasingly due to low rate of restenosis. However, especially in the early stage, it is reported that caution against the development of coronary artery aneurysm (CAA) is required because of delayed endothelialization with DES. In this case report, we present a case with very late development of CAA after DES implantation.
