VIBROACOUSTIC DIAGNOSTICS OF DEFECTS OF COMBUSTION ENGINES VALVES

Journal Title: Journal of Machine Construction and Maintenance - Year 2018, Vol 111, Issue 4

Abstract

The problem of the diagnostics of mechanical defects of combustion engines, especially of exhaust valves damages, occurs in several papers. Authors of these papers apply various inference techniques and limit investigations to the one selected object under specific work conditions. The results of the active diagnostics experiment, in which it was shown that completely different signal processing algorithms allow obtaining reproducible diagnostics symptoms in SI (spark-ignition) and CI (compression-ignition) engines, when the threshold values are properly chosen, are presented in the paper.
