Abstract

The increasing development of information technology causes many changes in education and learning across the learning centers of the world. By emergence of new technologies and creation of virtual learning centers, electronic education and e-learning has found a place in the virtual environments. Twenty-first century is characterized by an extensive communications network of connections which allow the virtual environments to exist that we have dreamed of before. Factors including variety of courses, course selection time, reduced travel and training costs, ease of attending online classes and high flexibility of e-learning had have effective roles in developing this technology. On the other hand, the students welcome to this new learning trend has been effective, since e-learning is highly capable of providing the required knowledge everywhere and every time as fast as possible. Using widespread internet connections, virtual environments would possibly provide survival and stability of learning societies, develop thought element regardless of any time and space constraints, and present creativity and learning which many traditional schools and centers has not dealt with so far. Virtual learning environment would refer to software spaces which are used for e-learning, consist of internet pages, self-studies and 000. This paper describes the design of online learning environments including infrastructure of virtual learning environments, virtual learning environment, planning principles, designing model and so on.
