Journal Title: Journal of Medical Science And clinical Research - Year 2016, Vol 4, Issue 12
Abstract
Vitamin D although was identified in early years of 20th century as a vital component needed for the treatment of rickets, it remained unexplored for a long period. Key findings in recent years brought Vitamin D again in forefront and now it is considered to be the most important Vitamin. It acts as a hormone and is required by most of the cells of our body. Before we discuss its functions one must be aware about the metabolism of Vitamin D. In this Review an attempt is made to provide detailed information on the metabolism and regulating factors of Vitamin D.
