Abstract
One of the best factors of the upbringing and formation of personality is the tourism and local lore activity. Unlimited cognitive abilities, rational physical load, impact on the emotional sphere of the child - all this creates optimal conditions for harmonious physical development, but also the formation of a fully developed personality. Local history in combination with tourism is a complex multifaceted educational, research, and cognitive activity of young people in the process of comprehensive study of the territory of the region. It is the most effective method of cognition in the process of geographical, biological and historical research. Tourist and local lore work is of great importance for the formation of sustainable knowledge, the development of creative abilities and the expansion of horizons. In addition, during the conduct of tourist and local lore travels is carried out as the implementation of the tasks of moral education, labor and environmental education of the younger generation. It allows the teacher to influence the formation of the student’s personality through means of emotionally colored interpersonal communication, both during the educational process and during travel. Active communication in nature during hikes, joint solution of tasks set by the team leader ensures the development of communicative abilities of students, allows you to better know yourself and others
