Journal Title: FOLIA GEOGRAPHICA - Year 2010, Vol 51, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper deals with a possible application of various landscape index types in a process of landscape structure assessment. Two basic principles of indexes application are presented: i) application of landscape indexes in comparison of secondary landscape structures on example of 5 selected areas in the Middle Slovakia neovolcanites and ii) as- sessment of landscape dimension applying Shannon’s index of diversity on primary land- scape structure on example of the Poľana Biosphere Reserve abiotic complex.
