WAGES OF HIRED LABOR IN FARMS OF POLISH FADN ACCORDING TO THE ECONOMIC SIZE IN THE YEARS 2010-2016

Abstract
The aim of this paper was an assessment of the size of potential wages of hired labor in commodity farms according to the economic size. The source of numerical data were results from farms of Polish FADN and the data from GUS. The given results show the marginal involvement of external labor force in farms which are economically very small, small and average small. What is more, the potential wages in these units were also kept at a low level. Over the years these wages were lower than the minimum wages in national economy, and moreover relations of potential wages in economically small farms to the ones offered in the other sectors of national economy were deteriorating. The highest wages of hired labor were visible in economically large farms. The value of the wages paid by owners of these farms was similar to the average wage in economy, which in turn contributes to the fact that hired laborers begin to see these entities as financially attractive employers.<br/><br/>
