WARSAW MUSEUMS IN THE BLOGOSPHERE
Journal Title: Muzealnictwo - Year 2013, Vol 54, Issue
Abstract
The article discusses the no longer new but still developing instrument of Internet communication, namely, the blog, through the prism of the museums of Warsaw. Against the backdrop of the rest of Poland the capital remains distinc-tive for the largest number of blogs about and in museums. About twenty web pages possess all the characteristic fea-tures of an Internet diary. Some serve the dissemination of information about a given museum and its activity, others expand specialist knowledge; critical blogs are, as a rule, anonymous.Warsaw museum blogs with an audience of their own have become an inherent element of the museum offer; their authors work on the popularisation of knowledge about their institution or the field in which they specialise. It is certainly worth to create and read blogs, and take care of them.
