Waves in an elastic layer with inertial mass on the border

Abstract

The paper proposes a model for studying the influence of a concentrated mass distributed along the plane of an elastic layer on the characteristics of an elastic waveguide. Dispersion equations are obtained for the phase velocity of symmetric and antisymmetric vibrations. The limiting cases are considered and numerical calculations are given for the phase velocity of the wave. The influence of a concentrated mass on the velocity of a surface wave is shown.
