WIND SPEED ANALYSIS AT IKEJA, NIGERIA USING THE CONVENTIONAL PROBABILITY DENSITY FUNCTIONS
Journal Title: Journal of Engineering Studies and Research - Year 2018, Vol 24, Issue 3
Abstract
The wind energy potential at Ikeja (Lat. 6.35 N; Long. 3.20 E), Nigeria was statistically analyzed using three of the mostly utilized conventional Probability Distribution Functions (PDFs) in order to determine which of these distributions would give the best means of analysis for wind in this particular location. The best fit test for these PDFs were determined from Akaike Information Criteria, Bayesian Information Criteria, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Cramer-von Mises statistics, Anderson-Darling Statistic, Mean Square Error and Chi-Square Test using Maximum Likelihood Estimation and Method of Moments as parameter estimates. The Weibull distribution gave the best fit in this location.
MODELING AND OPTIMIZATION OF BAKERY YEAST (SACCHAROMYCES CEREVISIAE) VIABILITY BY USING EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN PROCEDURE

EVALUATION OF THE HEATING SYSTEM FROM AN INJECTION MOLDING MACHINE
Injection is an economical process characterised through an increased productivity that leads, in the majority of cases, to finite pieces. The process of injection includes two distinctive phases, firstly, when the melti...
A NUMERICAL STUDY REGARDING THE INFLUENCE OF THE LONGITUDINAL EXTENT OF A T-SHAPED CRACK ON THE EIGENFREQUENCY DECREASE OF CANTILEVER BEAMS
The paper analyzes the effects of T-shaped cracks in beams regarding the manner in which the frequencies of the bending modes change. We determined the eigenfrequencies of the damaged beam involving the finite element me...
EVALUATION OF THE MODEL PREDICTION TOXICITY (LD50) FOR SERIES OF 42 ORGANOPHOSPHORUS PESTICIDES
Structure-Toxicity Relationships have been studied for a set of 42 organophosphorous pesticides (OPs) through multiple linear regression (MLR) and artificial neural networks (ANN). A model with three descriptors, includi...
THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF SOME SORGHUM GENOTIPES FOR GRAINS CULTIVATED IN THE CENTER OF MOLDOVA
In the lab, three sorghum hybrids for grains cultivated in the Center of Moldova were analyzed qualitatively, two of them having white grains, and one having red grains. Two of the hybrids, one with white grains (Albanus...
