Wood industry in Colombia: key resources for export performance

Journal Title: RAN - Revista Academia & Negocios - Year 2018, Vol 4, Issue 1

Abstract

An exploratory assessment of the resources and capacities of Soledad-Atlantico wooden furniture manufacturers and dealers to carry out exports sales was conducted by means of a survey applied to a stratified sample of 19 MSMEs. We found that the majority of MSMEs have no knowledge about commercial packaging, packing and customs procedures involved in export transactions. Since financial, human and social resources have an effect on export transactions results, we recommend to generate synergies and associativity to develop greater negotiation and export capabilities to reach international markets.
