Wpływ leków na występowanie zespołu wydłużonego QT i torsade de pointes
Journal Title: Na Ratunek - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 5
Abstract
Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias and their pathological records in electrocardiography, as well as an appropriate patient management is a very important skill in the work of a paramedic. The duration of the QT interval is of great importance in the diagnostic process. It reflects the heart’s full cycle of stimulation and return to its baseline myocardial function. A correct QT interval is dependent on the heart rate, sex and age. Long QT syndrome most often has a genetic background and is a consequence of the dysfunction in the potassium and sodium channels in myocardial cells. The primary diagnostic criterion is ECG. Long QT syndrome may also be an effect of medication, which in consequence can lead to cardiac arrest in the form of polymorphic ventricular tachycardia.
