Yakup Kadri’nin Kiralık Konak romanında “gündelik hayat”ın izleri üzerine bir değerlendirme

Abstract
AN ASSESSMENT ON THE TRACES OF THE “EVERYDAY LIFE” IN YAKUP KADRI’S KIRALIK KONAK NOVEL Abstract “The everyday life” existed since the beginning of the history of mankind is the ordinary system and the routine that consists of habits, works, and errands. This term, which is indirectly handled by Social Sciences in general, is related to concepts such as fashion, non-stylism, individuality, alienation, urbanization, mediocrity, continuity. In one sense, “everyday life”, which can be regarded as the rear face of modernity, is an important term for determining the reflection of the great transformations in the social sphere on the individual. “Everyday life”, influences the literature just as in every aspect of life. “Everyday life” in literature is significant in terms of revealing the mask of the routine, and reflecting the results of the individuals detached from nature, history, style because of modern life. The social change at the beginning of the 20th century is narrated in a mansion by addressing the lives of three generations in Yakup Kadri's novel, Kiralık Konak (1920). In this context, the daily life, and the efforts and failures of the people who try to adapt to daily life are handled. In this study, the boundaries of daily life are primarily determined according to the theories of researchers such as Henri Lefebvre, Michel de Certaue and George Simmel, and then the influence of the “everyday life” are examined in Kiralık Konak. The transformation of modern “everyday life” are studied by analyzing the daily habits of Naim Efendi, Servet Bey, and Seniha, who particularly represents three different generations in the novel.
