YOUTH ACEHNESE REASONS IN SHIFTING ACEH LANGUAGE; A Sociolinguistic study to filter the endangered of vernacular language

Abstract
This Research aims to discover the reasons of youth Acehnese in shifting Aceh language (A Sociolinguistic study to filter the endangered of vernacular language).This was qualitative research, which has analyzed the reasons of youth Acehnese in shifting their vernacular language. Data are taken in Langsa City;there are five district included Langsa kota, Langsa Barat,Langsa Timur, Langsa Baroe and Langsa Lama. This research focus on language shift by youth Acehnese which age range 18-21 years old. The subjects consists of ten (10) respondents for each districts in totally fifty respondents (50) as a subjects of this research. The instruments that used in this research are: 1) Observation, 2) questioner, 3) and Interview. The technique of data analysis used the interactive model of Mile’s and Hubarman which consist of; 1) data reduce, 2) Data display,3) data verification,4) and conclusion. Research finding are summarized that there are three reasons of shifting; 1) environment,2) habitual language use,3) language choose.
