Zawarcie małżeństwa przez cudzoziemca lub z cudzoziemcem w kontekście ustawy – Prawo o aktach stanu cywilnego

Abstract
A foreigner wishing to enter into marriage in Poland has two possibilities to choose from. Firstly, in principle it may be done before the consul of his/her country who performs his/her functions in Poland, while secondly, such foreigner may enter into marriage according to Polish law, at a register office before the Superintendent Registrar. The possibility of contracting marriage by either party is determined by the respective party’s national law applicable at the time of getting married. If a marriage is entered into in Poland, Polish law is applicable, as defined by the provisions of the Act of 25 February 1964 – Family and Guardianship Code, and the Act–Law on Civil Status Records.
