Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the development of value added produced in agriculture and agricultural export in the EU against chosen countries. The author tried to answer two questions: 1) what is the importance of agriculture in the economy of EU countries against the United States, Japan, India, China and Brazil; 2) what is the importance of agricultural exports of individual countries by measuring the share of agricultural exports in Gross Domestic Product. In general, the importance of agriculture measured by value added is declining, but export share in GDP is increasing which compose to increasing globalization of agricultural markets.
