Zwierzęta dziko żyjące na Pomorzu Zachodnim we wczesnym średniowieczu Wild animals in West Pomerania in the early Middle Ages

Abstract

Wild animals from West Pomerania from the early Middle Ages were examined based on the bone remains recovered during of many years of excavations conducted by Szczecin archaeologists in this area. These remains were identified in terms of species, and the percentages of individual taxa in this bone assemblage were analysed. In addition, morphological characterization of some of these animals was presented, using osteometric parameters and the calculated height at the withers. The results were compared with the data available in the literature.
