Abstract

Spiders serve as biological control agents in agricultural ecosystems. Traditional farming was beneficial in controlling the pests by like spiders. The extensive use of pesticides and inorganic fertilizers leads to disturb the communities of biological controller like spider. Present investigation was planned to determine the effects of the pesticides on spider populations in cotton fields of Timba, Satlasana. Spider collection was made using visual searching and pitfall methods. In collection, total 439 individuals collected before and 244 individuals collected after gave treatment of pesticides. There were a reduced number of spiders in pesticide employed cotton farms. These results indicate that the use of pesticide is harmful and toxic effects on to the spider fauna.
