Examine critical thinking on social adjustment of High school female pupils in the academic year 90-89

Abstract

The present study was administrated with the aim of investigate the effect of critical thinking on social adjustment of High school students. This is a semi-experimental research and its design is of the pretest-posttest type with control group. Statistical population for this study was High school female pupils, among which 50 subjects were randomly selected. The subjects were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups that each group composed of 25 people. Data collection tool in this study was adjustment questionnaire of High school students which has been developed by Sinha and Singh (1993). Research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics methods such as mean and standard deviation and inferential statistics such as t-test and X2. The results indicate the impact of teaching critical thinking on social adjustment of High school female pupils and there was a significant difference between the means of social adjustment scores of subjects in the experimental group and control in the post- test.
