40Gbps WDM RoF PON System Based on OFDM

Abstract

In this paper, an effort is made to analyze the integration of direct detection optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DDO-OFDM) with wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) to reach high data rates of 40 Gb/s over 4800 km SMF-DCF. The 40 Gb/s signal is generated by multiplexing 4 OFDM signals with 10 Gb/s for each OFDM. The performance of the system is studied by measuring symbol error rate (SER) and analyzing the constellation diagram. Also, the relationship between the received power and SER is studied.
