Abstract
This study aims to analyze the teaching work in the Specialization Course in Public Management of IFSC and UFSC. To this end, a research was designed considering as categories of analysis the following dimensions of the teaching work in Distance Education: didactic, pedagogical, technological and administrative. The research had a qualitative descriptive approach and used the case study method. Documentary and bibliographic researches were conducted, as well as semi-structured interviews. Subsequently, a qualitative analysis of the data collected through discourse analysis was carried out. It was observed that there are some characteristics and practices that impact on the effectiveness of the teaching work in the courses studied. Some contribute to a decrease in results, such as the fact that there is no Distance Education institutionalization, there is a lack of structures and support for scientific research, a low degree of autonomy in relation to the course content, a continuity of the linear logic of knowledge reproduction, work overload, lack of time and accumulation of functions. Characteristics were also found favoring positive results, such as: development of digital didactic tools, adaptations of the content of curricular units, promotion of social events that foster teacher-learner interaction, constant concern with the student and the learning.
